Luxury and Nature going Hand in Hand: Our Experience at Wildtrack Safaris Eco Lodge
Through one of our loyal members in our Facebook group “Travelling Namibia & Botswana” we were invited to stay at ‘Wildtrack Safaris Eco lodge’ during our trip. The lodge was on our route, in Pandamatenga, so we decided to drop by and boy are we glad we did!
From Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, we drove via a beautiful route towards the border crossing to Botswana, Pandamatenga. Along the way we encounter a lot of wildlife and many (predatory) birds. We approach the quiet border crossing where everything went very quickly and smoothly, nice!
Within minutes of crossing the border we arrived at Wildtrack Safaris Eco Lodge. Upon arrival we were immediately very impressed, what a beautiful place! We were greeted by beautiful birds and lots of green: we love it! After we parked the car, we walked through the reception to the large – beautifully decorated – reception room, also called ‘boma’. You can immediately see the love for design and detail throughout the lodge. Everywhere you look, you see beautiful furniture, statues, rugs, paintings, etc. It gives a feeling of luxury and that felt very good, especially after several nights of very basic camping in the bush.
Both the owners and the staff are incredibly friendly, warm and interested. We are being welcomed very warmly and soon we were all chatting while enjoying a fresh drink.
Time to explore our room (chalet). On the way to our chalet, I immediately notice that there is a chalet with a slope, instead of a step: wheelchair-friendly! As a trainer in the field of inclusion and diversity, I obviously like to see that! We arrive at our chalet. Wow, so beautiful! Again, so tastefully decorated with beautiful furnishings and decorations. I immediately test the bed: approved! The bathroom is also very nice with a large roll top bath and there is also an outdoor shower. Life is good! Time to recover from the long drive and all the impressions.
Later in the afternoon we’re heading out. It’s going to be a game drive to Kazuma Pans, a beautiful wildlife area where few or no tourists come. We are therefore the only visitors. The guide tells us all about the area and its biodiversity. During the drive we see secretary birds, giraffes, elephants and more. When the sun starts to set, we stop for a ‘Sundowner’, and it is a great one! We are treated to all kinds of tasty snacks, toasts, cheeses and drinks of your choice. That Gin Tonic was delicious!! 😉 Together we enjoy a beautiful sunset while exchanging stories with each other, while we hear some jackals calling in the distance.
The food in the lodge is really insanely delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and you can taste it immediately! Delicious fresh fruit is served at breakfast. And what makes us very happy: GOOD coffee! (In many lodges / accommodations you have to settle for instant coffee, ughh)
You can sit in the garden, overlooking a waterhole for wildlife or take a dip in the pool. There is excellent WiFi available and you can really enjoy the surroundings in peace with nothing but nature sounds around you.
The lodge organizes all kinds of activities such as game drives in Chobe NP, Hwange NP, day trips to the Victoria falls, cultural tours, etc. Click here for more information.
If it had been up to us we would certainly have stayed longer, but unfortunately it was time to continue our trip. This was definitely not our last visit! We enjoyed a wonderful and well-kept stay and made friends for life: perhaps the most important thing!
